Lawmaker aims to continue stadium taxes after expiration date
It should be remembered that the legislation creating Safeco Field only came after this idea was defeated at the ballot box in 1995. After the three amigos, Gary Locke, Norm Rice and Mike Lowery, strong-armed the Legislature, only then was legislation written that would create Safeco Field [“Snap out of it: let taxes expire,” Opinion, March 15]. But the public objected.
