The Aurora Town Board is amending its payment plan for the building at 300 Gleed Ave., stretching out the bond for at least another 10 years. The change is expected to reduce the yearly repayment burden, which has strained reserve funds in the last few years.

Derry Area School District may face 6-mill jump
With the district facing a possible 6-mill tax increase, Derry Area superintendent Roberta McCahan said district officials will have “very difficult decisions” to make while refining the budget in the coming months; the school board approved a 2011-12 preliminary spending plan with the increase at its Feb. 10 meeting.
